The JJQ plays at a variety of venues around Northern Colorado. For instance, here they are in December 2006 livening up the New Year's Eve party at Western Ridge Restaurant in Livermore. (As you can see, John Wayne sat in.)

The JJQ held its first CD Release Party at Avo's on November 12, 2006, and the whole band was there ("all six members of the quintet"). This was one of those rare times when Dale and Brandy got to play together, and everyone sounded wonderful.
The first set showcased material from the new CD. In the last set, friends joined the mix, including frequent substitute Gary Bruner on sax and Mark Manges on trumpet.

The JJQ plays for Happy Hour at Avo's (Avogadro's Number) in Fort Collins, CO, the third Friday of each month.
In the summer when the weather is nice, they often play outside in the little gazebo in Avo's patio. These photos were taken in June 2006. Gary Bruner was subbing for Matthew at this gig, and John Leisenring sat in on trombone.

These photos were taken at a typical indoor Third Friday gig at Avo's in July 2005. As usual, the band and its enthusiastic fans had a great time and some of the fans brought their kids. You're never too young to be a jazz fan!

Here the JJQ plays at Avo's in April 2004. This time the band's regular Third Friday gig was enlivened by the presence of Matthew's brother, Down Beat award-winning saxophonist Javier Arau (in the blue shirt). Scott Ford substituted for Chuck on drums for this gig.
